Privacy policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

SpokaneTech.org is a community directory of technology groups and events. This policy explains information handling for the website. Contact admin@spokanetech.org with privacy questions.

Information and services

Public event and group listings can be browsed without an account. We do not currently offer public account registration, send marketing emails, or process payments on this website. Authorized maintainers use accounts to administer the site.

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message. Website and hosting infrastructure may record technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, timestamps, and errors for operation, troubleshooting, and security.

Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics can collect information about pages viewed, interactions, browsers, and devices, and may use cookies or similar identifiers. Google processes information under its own policies. See Google’s explanation of partner-site data and Google’s Privacy Policy.

The website also uses cookies for authenticated sessions and protection against forged requests. Browser settings can manage or block cookies and scripts; blocking them can affect sign-in or other functionality. Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Third-party services and public listings

Styles, fonts, and scripts are delivered through third-party content delivery networks, including jsDelivr. Your browser contacts those providers when loading their resources, which can disclose technical request information such as your IP address and browser headers.

We obtain public group and event information, including descriptions, images, and organizer details, from sources such as Meetup and Eventbrite. Public event information may also be shared through community services such as Discord and LinkedIn. Contact us about inaccurate listings or information you believe should be removed.

RSVP links and community links take you to external services. Those services handle information under their own policies. We use hosting and service providers to operate the site; information may also need to be disclosed to address abuse or applicable legal obligations.

Retention and requests

We have not published fixed retention periods for every category of data, including server logs, correspondence, analytics, and backups. Contact admin@spokanetech.org for information about retention or to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with you. We review requests against the data we control and applicable obligations; we do not offer a self-service account-deletion feature or promise immediate removal from backups or third-party systems.

Please do not send passwords, API tokens, or unnecessary sensitive information with a request. Requests concerning information controlled by an external event organizer or service may need to be directed to that provider.

Security and policy updates

We use security measures to protect the website, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately as described in our security policy.

We will publish policy revisions on this page with an updated date. Review this page for current information about the services in use.
